GPCL understands that being part of this society it is its moral responsibility to aid and serve the society to the maximum possible extent. Our initiatives have been founded on the belief that the benefits of industrialization should be shared by the communities at large. GPCL has not only focused on the industrial development, instead, through its projects, it has made efforts to bring social development as well. The basic objective of CSR for GPCL is to focus on holistic development of host communities and create social, environmental and economic value to the society.
GPCL has initiated some significant participatory and non-participatory roles in the areas of upliftment of Women & Child, Food & Health, Sports sectors as well as Education to the needy. In these interventions, our objective has been to support institutions as well which provide such specific facilitation and welfare related services.

CSR Activities during FY 2016-17 to FY 2019-2020:
- Established Degree Engineering college named "Gujarat Power Engineering and Research Institute” at Mevad, Ta. & Dist. Mehsana under the Education sector.
- Constructed water pipeline to tap water requirements of the nearby villages of Charanka Solar Park. Solar street lights have also been installed in Solar Park and villages in the proximity of the project.
- Enhanced skills of women residing in the villages nearby Charanka Solar Park by providing them training of needle work, patch work etc., distributed Solar Lanterns, provided school dress & educational kits to the students.
- Provided temporary tent (Tarpaulin Tad Patri) material for heavy rain affected people in North Gujarat.
- Contributed to "Sujalam Sufalam Jal Abhiyan” at Botad
- Contributed to "The SRAG Tennis Academy” (The Squash Rackets Association of Gujarat), Ahmedabad as a part of promoting rural sports, nationally recognized sports, Paralympics sports and Olympic sports.
CSR Activities during FY 2020-2021:
- Distribution of Food Kits in the village of Charanka, Patan during the period of Covid-19 lockdown.
- Contribution to The Akshay Patra Foundation towards purchase of Food Distribution Vehicle with temperature maintenance for distributing Mid-day meal to government school children as well as towards their project of distribution of "Happiness Kit” containing dry ration grocery kit with immunity boosters, education kit to promote home based learning and a hygiene kit.
- Contribution to the Government Arts & Commerce College, Gogha Bhavnagar, Gujarat for purchase of laboratory and other equipments for educational work.
- Contribution to Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES Fund) as a measure to support the government in its efforts of controlling/ curbing the Covid-19 pandemic.
CSR Activities during FY 2021-2022:
- Contribution to Akshay Patra Foundation (APF) towards distribution of the Happiness kit containing dry ration grocery kit with the immunity boosters, an education kit to promote home based learning and a hygiene kit to promote habits of maintaining health and hygiene to government school children in Bhavnagar district of Gujarat. - Contribution to Gujarat CSR Authority (GCSRA) for Development of Smart Anganwadis, construction of Percolation Tank, Construction of Roof-Top Rainwater Harvesting Tanks at Household Level, Construction of Water ATMs and such other development projects at villages of Babra, Charanka, Fangali etc. (Photo Gallery)

- Contribution to Akshay Patra Foundation (APF) by providing support for procuring kitchen equipments and food distribution vehicles so as to serve hot and nutritious cooked meals to the government school children at Bhavnagar under Mid-day meal programme. (Photo Gallery)
- Contribution to Gujarat CSR Authority (GCSRA) being implementing agency for the project of Department of Health and Family Welfare, GOG for establishing Special New-born Care Units to manage small and sick new-borns in the hospitals till the age of one month by skilled Paediatricians, Medical officers and Staff Nurses at Patan Gujarat.
